Cerovac Caves, located in the south part of the Velebit Nature Park, are one of the best known and most important speleological features in Croatia. The complex is comprised of three caves (Lower, Middle and Upper Cave) containing a total of 7 kilometers of explored passages. Available for visitors are the first 700 meters of Lower and Upper Caves.

If you are planning an excursion that will discover new and interesting destinations to you, make sure to visit Zavratnica – one of the most beautiful coves of the Croatian coast, protected in the category of significant landscapes. When it comes to its origins, Zavratnica is actually a submerged torrent valley with canyon cliffs approximately 100 meters high. 

There are four educational trails in the Park. The Kude's Bridge trail leads to the most beautiful part of the Krupa River, where tufa cascades became foundations for Kude's Bridge built across them. This is the oldest preserved crossing of the Krupa River built in dry stone wall technique. 

Velebit hiking trails are favorite destinations of visitors, and one of the Park trademarks. There are 14 trails available in the Nature Park in total, ranging from easy to difficult, and allowing a wide range of visitors to directly experience the mountain and its surroundings. 

Rocky peaks of Velebit are appreciated and favorite destinations for experienced hikers and rock climbers. Agin kuk, Rujičin kuk and Čelina kuk are open for climbing from April until November. These long climbing routes require knowledge, experience and good equipment.

Rafting and canoeing are available only in the part of Zrmanja from the bridge in the centre of Kaštel Žegarski village up to the iron bridge in Muškovci. In periods with such a decline in water level that the passage of vessels would endanger the biotope of the river Zrmanja and especially the growth of tufa, rafting and canoeing are not allowed.

There are twelve bicycling trails in the Velebit Nature Park, and some of them can also be combined. All of them are very attractive, since the ride allows cyclists to experience the forest, the mountain, and karst phenomena of Velebit and the sea.
